What to expect during your physiotherapy

The initial assessment will consist of a short discussion to establish the nature of the problem and your goals with regard to physiotherapy.

This will be followed by a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment, to include your alignment, muscle strength and movement to form a clinical impression and treatment plan.

With many years of experience as a specialist in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, I am able to use a variety of treatment techniques including manipulation, acupuncture, exercise, McKenzie approach, muscle imbalance and the use of insoles.

Treatment will usually include advice on home exercises, which will be tailored to your specific needs. This will also include advice on how to manage your problem on a long term basis.

With all patients I monitor for any concerning symptoms that can mimic musculoskeletal problems and I will advise you regarding discussion with your GP about onward referral where appropriate.

After the initial assessment, follow up appointments will involve reassessment to monitor any changes in symptoms. We will also progress treatment and home exercises and review goals.

I endeavour to provide the highest possible standard of patient care and the best outcome for all of my clients.
